Jamo’s Picks

Bet of the Day
Undoubtedly for me the bet of the day today is Streama. She is an outstanding filly who has a great winning strike rate (8 starts, 4 wins). She can sit handy or get back depending on what the pace of the race is. Her last win in the Group I Flight Stakes was as good a win from a three year old filly I’ve seen this season….. Including Atlantic Jewel’s wins. That being said the $3 on offer is terrific value.

Next Best
Our Koko is a talented filly. She gets back and has a big engine to finish off her races. She has been a victim of circumstances he last couple but this looks an ideal race for her to gain her second win of her career. The stable rate her as an Oaks filly so she should go close to winning this on that.. Current odds $4, looks good.

Multi Horse’s
My favourite horse in racing at the present time is the powerful Helmet. The super son of Exceed and Excel chalked up his third Group I win in the Caulfield Guineas last preparation and looks well placed for a fresh up win. Trainer Peter Snowden has said that he is very fit going into today race considering his next race is in a Group I over mile and his third run of the prep is in Dubai in the UAE Guineas (1900m). Wins for fun.

Ockham’s Razor’s win in the Karaka Million was exceptional. He drew wide, settled near the back of the field and mowed down Silk Pins to win in fine fashion. He drops significantly in class going into this assignment and anything other than him winning would be a shock. The $1.90 looks great.

The Exabelle form
Sharki Brahma defeated my filly Exabelle last start and considering she’s the best horse I’ve ever had I would expect that Sharki Brahma would back that win up with another. Note Exabelle’s jockey Matt Cameron is riding the son of Darci Brahma for todays race. $3.50
